This old non https site from 20 years ago refers to a thread here. Google and Chrome hate non secure sites, so I'm surprised it still displays at all. Seems pretty good/comprehensive to me.
I searched and can't find the referenced MS thread. Bigwig is the OP and you would think the subject would be the same as mine. Nope. A similar but very brief thread from about that same time has this Jonk67 post in it.

I'll also be sure to get the upper mount extension (8" extension I think) so that the belt ride sits closer to my shoulder for better restraint and to keep the belt from rubbing on my neck.

Any experience among fastback owners here on these options? Seems like a good solution, but it has been 20 years.

Although not in a fstbk, mines a vert, it seems I have the same set as seatbeltsplus shows.
I got the fronts and rears about 20 years iago from CJP and the clips and retractors look identical.
The upper shoulder mount is on the Shelby “roll” bar .
I dressed the buckles up a bit with pony badges.
I’m pleased with the operation and looks of the product.

James Willingham. (JamesW on the forum) published that article on the fastback belts years ago. He is still around but not on here, having sold his fastback.
I’ll see if I can get in touch with him

The destructions actually make it a 4 point system.
I used their “van instructions” to make it a true 3 point system.
Had to call by telephone as the website order will be incorrect.
2 things to verify are:
1) long upper sash
2) long lower “C” end mount (otherwise it will be a short tab)
I went with the “airplane style” buckle for a vintage look.
The “push button” style is similar to factory Ford and GM buckles in 70’s vehicles.
Probably easier to use, just looks out of place in a ‘65 Mustang to me.
My ‘84 Cougar had the 4 point system.
I understood how to use it…my drunk buddies sure did not.
Think of clowns falling out of a car tiny car at a circus. 😁

I’ve been looking for a 3-point seatbelt for my fastback also. The ones I’ve looked at are similar to the ones in the other posts on this thread. My issue is that upper support needs a backup plate behind the interior sheet metal to provide adequate strength, which requires cutting and welding on a ‘finished’ interior.
Hoping someone will provide an alternate solution that is a less intrusive install.

Thanks to each of you - that's a big help. Dan - I wasn't even thinking of the 3 point vs 4 point, but yes, that's a good point. I really didn't want to have to locate that retractor anywhere, so I'm thinking 3 point. Can you please post the link to the page? I see the screen grab, but I'm not getting the long lower C mount part.
BobE (not Bob Evans) - I think you can pull back the headliner a bit. My interior is not complete, but the JamesW page text and photos make it look like that's what he did. I don't think you have to weld, it's just a rosette weld to locate the plate. Maybe just use a button head bolt to affix it.
MS, let us know if James responds.

Paul – looking at the literature Nos681 provided in his post, there is a plate to be installed for the upper connection point. I couldn’t find the JamesW post, and do not remember whether this plate can be slipped into place in the fastback’s ‘B’ pillar without making some opening to fit it in. As my car interior is finished, and I am reluctant to taking it apart for this installation. As yours is still in the finishing stage, I’d look into this installation.

That is the exact set up I have in my 68.

First time in a couple of years that I log on and we're talking 3 point seatbelts.....
It probably has been 20 years since that mod and the crappy webpage. Back before Facebook and Youtube and stuff. So yes, there was no welding, just the bracket that slipped in behind the structure. Had to pull the headliner back a bit for access and to drill the holes, but it was easy. I may have tacked a coat hangar to the bracket so I could fish it up and hold it in place while doing the bolts. It was still installed in my car and working perfectly when I sold it in 2021.
The website that I used to have is no longer maintained. I closed the web server account a while back. If anyone wants to take any of that information and update, rehost, rename..take use or ownership of.... I have no problem with that. Much of it is still relative, but there is a lot that's out of date. You all are welcome to it.
Not active in the hobby much anymore - busy with grandkids and country life. I'm may try and make it to the Bash this year since it's in the DFW area. Would be good to see some old friends.
