Re: Toy Truck, or… Back in the Ford Saddle

Maybe drive it for a few months and see if you like the ride and handling of the 19's rather than buying a set of 19" wheels and finding out you hate the tires.  The more I look at the picture of the factory wheels they are kind of growing on me.

Black wheels will not be on my truck. Period.
The truck rides really well with the factory 19x7.5 wheels. I bet I can screw that up by going to 8.5” width!

Konig Oversteer…perfect with a couple of signature marks behind it. 😁

Dan, I think I am agreeing with that. The oversteer seems to be the cleanest looking wheel I can find. And they are priced nice.

I have looked at wheels for hours and just am not finding any I like better, except the ones that are not made in the right size.

It seems like there are tons of different cars that use this same size, so there are tons to choose from. Most just are not to my liking.

Re: Toy Truck, or… Back in the Ford Saddle

I know I have weird wheel tastes, but I would keep the stock wheels and have them powder-coated.  Maybe a warm cream color.  I have seen white LOBO wheels and thought they looked cool.  It is a mini truck, hopefully more 5x108 wheels come out.

Looks like a lot of Ferraris had 5x108 wheels…

i have 4 of these sitting in my shed taking up space. 5x108 x 19" Not sure of backspasing. Looks like about 6-1/2"
9" wide.
Probably not your taste MS.

Re: Toy Truck, or… Back in the Ford Saddle

I ordered a set of these today. The Konig Oversteer turned out to only come in a gray color. I prefer the silver finish on these.

They will likely arrive before I take delivery of the truck

Nice choice!

Be sure to update what you think of the Lobo.

For next time…

I never liked those on a Ferrari, either. If I bought one, those would have to go

Re: Toy Truck, or… Back in the Ford Saddle

This has been an interesting post for me cuz I just recently bought a Ruby Red Metallic(Maroon)
Maverick with the Black Out Package.  My black rims are not as ugly as the ones on the Lobo but still not to my liking.  I really like the ones that Raymond B posted, I think I will check into those.  I'm with Steve on this,
the person that decided the Lobo rims were the way to go should be fired immediately.

Re: Toy Truck, or… Back in the Ford Saddle

I may have screwed up. The wheels I ordered have 35mm offset.  I had done my fitment calculations on a 42mm offset.

With 35, they would stick out 5:8” farther than stock

With 42, they would stick out only 3/8” farther.

I guess I will just have to see what it looks like.  I sure don’t want it to look like a ricer

MS, most places will allow returns as long as tires have not been mounted.

Might be worth checking.

It’s that shipping cost to send them back that scares me

Both of those explain my view of the stock Lobo wheels

I would run them if chrome was in good condition and I had the space in the 65…modified of course.

Re: Toy Truck, or… Back in the Ford Saddle

I finally got the truck today.  This thing drives awesome!
I need to test and see if the factory lug nuts are going to fit the new wheels.
