I’m imagining Steve changing water pumps multiple times with that set up!🤬

That setup has the same GM power steering pump with the plastic tank that mine had. Nothing I tried would keep it from pumping fluid up and out of the vent hole in the dipstick. I replaced the tank with a fabricated aluminum tank and aluminum cap. Same problem. Always dumping fluid, no matter how low I set the fluid level. I finally fabricated a breather with a vertical extension and that stopped it. Don’t get me started on water pumps.
Absolutely no more GM parts on my Ford. I am wondering how this Borgeson GM pump for my 65 is going to work out.

There used to be a company that made a billet aluminum SBF timing cover.
I don’t remember the name due to sale price of the timing cover.
It was way out of my budget.

IMO, and from what I've read or hear (horror stories) I would stick with a Fox style accessory drive for several reason:
1.) OEM design and reliability.
2.) Replacement parts available everywhere and probably in stock (reduced down time).
3.) Cost. Used parts are available all over eBay, etc. and there are also reproductions offered through LMR, etc.
4.) Appearance. It looks like a factory setup, because it is. If its not sexy enough you can always grind the casting flash off, polish it, paint it, etc.
5.) There are adapter brackets to mount Borgesson pump (older style Saginaw) in the Ford PS pump cradle.
Sadly the aftermarket stuff today all seems like junk. Pretty junk, but junk nonetheless. My time is just too valuable nowadays. I tend to look at solutions guaranteed to be one and done.

No argument from me!!! I sold the 69, so I no longer have to worry about it.
