I just bought a used AOD from a '91 fox body mustang, and it came with all of the accessories (seller swapped in a T5). There are 2 cross members, a front and rear, and the rear has a transmission mount attached as well (front cross-member seems to bolt directly to the transmission without a rubber mount). From what I understand, the rear cross member needs to be custom fabbed (or purchased) due to the increased length of the AOD. What I'm wondering is if the front cross member and the rear rubber mount from the fox body are used in this application (assuming I purchased one of the commonly available pre-made rear cross-members designed for this swap). Which trans mounts are typically used with the aftermarket rear cross-members? Would appreciate anyone's input who has experience in this.
Engine is a 351W in case relevant, original trans was a C4. Thanks!

Use your original mount.

OK, thanks. And the cross members? Is there only the 2 engine mounts and a single trans (rear in AOD case) cross member on the 60's Mustangs? When I bought the car the engine and trans were out and I never got the original C4 cross member from the original owner.

You need an AOD-specific crossmember for a 67-70 Mustang. Use the 65-70 rubber transmission mount for a C-4

The block plate I have from the 351W and the aluminum one from the AOD/5.0 have the same mounting holes but the original is slightly thicker, which should I use? Also, the C4 and AOD dipstick tubes are slightly different, will the AOD dipstick bolt up to the '69 351W? They look to be the same hole diameter, is there a preference based on mounting tab location?
Thanks

Best success is achieved by using the parts that came with that transmission. The dipstick tube bolts to the bell housing bolt on passenger side.

Got it, thank you!
