Re: Buying a 70 parts car

When I worked for a living in a tool and die shop we used a product called “Dustbane”.
At the end of the work day we scattered this stuff all over the floor to suppress the dust when everyone grabbed a broom and swept the shop floor.

Dustbane is a brand, they have a boatload of products. Just in their floor care products they have 29 SKUs. Maybe this is the product? https://www.dustbane.ca/products/m13-neutral-floor-cleaner

Never heard of sweeping compound. In the bike shop we just had a dust broom like a gym floor type and used that. In my unsealed concrete garage, I need to step up  my game. The leaf blower doesn't get it very clean. I did see a Kleen Products - Kleen Sweep Plus #1810 ten lb bag of sweeping compound on Amazon. Back in the day as a kid, we used dry laundry soap and added just a skosh of water to get a paste like deal going. Then hosed it down. Don't like hosing down the garage floor. Gets under everything. That's better in the driveway.

Re: Buying a 70 parts car

When I worked at gas stations back in the 70s we'd mop the floor and islands with some type of solvent, then push broom a material kinda like kitty litter to absorb any remaining fluids. Kitty littler works great on oil spills too.

Re: Buying a 70 parts car

I've wet mopped concrete at times, but sweeping compound is usually all you need to get typical fine dust up.

Re: Buying a 70 parts car

The stuff we used was like a coarse green saw dust.
