I have a 68 302 which the oil dipstick tube that has a short tab with a large mounting hole, but it does not seem to match up with the hold in the head. Which hole in the head does it mount to, the one closer to the intake or the one further out?
I have seen the one that has a long tab near the end and then the tab bends at a 90 degree. I think this one must bolt to the timing cover somehow. Do I have the wrong one? I can't seem to find a clear pic of the mounting location. Thanks for any info.

My 351 had that small tab on the dipstick tube. It bolted to one of the holes in the head. I used a 1/8" thick stainless steel spacer between it and the head.

Thanks sir. I just needed a clear pic of it. I think mine must be bent a little - I will try and straighten it.
