I'm about to replace the heater core in my daily driver. The plan is to pull the heater case and restore it while waiting for parts to come in so it will be a couple days between pulling it and completing repairs.
Is there any risk of damage to anything driving with the case out a few days while I'm going through the process?

Just take short piece of heater hose and route it between the in and out of water pump.
The only thing is that you might get some snow blow in fron the hole where the fan motor is in the firewall.

Be sure you don't have an exhaust leak on the right manifold as any fumes will get sucked into the car. Of course, there is always duct tape.

And take a blanket and a warm dog.

Mines been that way for 20 years...LOL. For the longest time I couldn't figure our where this breeze was coming from and I never had a heater. Well the big round hole on top is where its coming from. Im going to put duct taper over mine until I install AC/Heater down the road.

Ditto on the duct tape. I had my heater box out for 15 years. I just duct taped up the blower motor hole.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
