Rebuild the old and Use a steering ujoints and double d shaft. Or upgrade to a rack and pinion

Re: tilt steering column on 65 mustang coup with six cyl.

What year is your car? On my 66 I replaced the steering box with a pwer steering box. (simular to the Borgeson). It came with a rag joint to connect to the steering box, the other side of the rag joint was a doubble 'D' type connection. I cut my steering column to the correct length needed. Then used the grinder and file to shape the end of the column to fit into the double 'D' rag joint.

If this forum can't fix it, it isn't broke.
