Yeah Joe, I know.
It is even parked less than 100 feet away from this.....
Heres the kicker though, I've been feeling pretty poorly lately, and about a 6 hr. workday is the best I can do.
Just got diagnosed with chronic Lyme Disease, from a tick bite 5+ years ago, which brings with it a year long+ course of antibiotics and a bunch more crap. Prognosos is good, just a long process.
Hard to be motivated to build a car when you can't work a full day...
BTW, you guys are the first I've shared this part of the story with.

Not a chance, Terry. Bought my first Mustang in 1982 at 17 yrs. old. Worked at a couple Mustang restoration shops into my mid to late 20s....Probably have owned as many as MS over the years... its in my blood. (Along with the Lyme bacteria...lol)
Thanks for the kind words fellas.

Hey Darren,
sorry to learn about you health concerns but, you'll get through it........
nun-a-my-b's-wax but, couldn't you keep the car until your treatment ends and then....get after it??!!
reason i say that is, I got rid of my first and therefore, favorite mustang and every once in awhile, the old relex action happens and my boot contacts my backside......wish I still had that '68 coupe..........

I appreciate the thought, Josh, but truth be told, this is just another Mustang to me.
Now, if I could possibly find the red/black 1971 M-code Mach 1 I drove in high school that ended up getting most of the parts from a wrecked Boss 351 transplanted......THATS the car I get misty eyed over.
The owner of the restoration shop I worked for in the late 80s had a yellow 70 Boss 302 Cougar Eliminator with a sunroof that is still stored less than 30 miles from me, and I also know of a Grabber Lime Boss 351 nearby.....
When the time is right, I'll build another.

Disregard. Car is no longer for sale. It won't be at the Bash this year, but I hope to be.
As an aside, I really believe the internet and text messages has led to a new breed of rude car buyer.
I'll bet I had 30-40 replies to my ad with one sentence: "Whats your bottom dollar?"
This isn't Fast &Loud.
I replied " I put my price in the ad, come out and look and then let me know what you are thinking." Most replied "My time is too valuable." or something similar.
Too much expectation of instant gratification these days
I'll keep it, build it and enjoy it.

Glad to see you keeping it Daren. My first Mustang was a 66 convertible. I got laid off and needed money. The car needed a lot of work so I put it up for sale for $700, which I thought was more than fair. A guy offered me $100 and tried to give me his card if I didn't sell it. After turning him down at least 3 times I told him basically, if you don't leave now on your own you won't be able to. There’s always been nuts out there.
Good Luck
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
