Front end off. Finally found some SIlver smoke Grey...

So I was able to unassemble the front end, and left fender which needs some work on a dent where the bumper attaches, going to take it to my body guy. I am about to pull the motor, and then pressure wash everything to prep for engine bay painting. I am wondering about the very front where the fenders and hood latch assebly attach, what color is this usually painted? I might just paing it black the same as the engine bay, the 2 part epoxy is pretty strong so it might make sense.
Also, I pulled the back seat and was able to find the first  remnance of Silver Smoke grey, looks to be in great shape, for good reason I guess!
Also, I can see the cowels from under the dash, they seem to be in great shape, but from the top I can see a lot of debris, like leaves and crap, is there any way to get this stuff out of there short of cutting an access door on the sides of the cowels covers?
Thanks, Devon

Re: Front end off. Finally found some SIlver smoke Grey...

You can flush the cowel, thru the top vents and use a hook to encourage all the debris to come out the side drains.  This will certainly tell if your hat bases are rusted out, otherwise there should be no problem.

Re: Front end off. Finally found some SIlver smoke Grey...

I modified my air nozzle by using a 3' piece of 1/4 copper tubing.  I flaired one end and slid a flair nut on it then, screwed it to the nozzle.

Then, charge up my 60 gal compressor......... inserted the tube into the side drain holes on each end of the cowl and..........blew the snot outta it........

The cool thing about the tubing is you can easily bend it so that you can aim the tip into corners, etc

I do recommend you roll the car outside if you do it this way otherwise, you'll be living in a cloud of who knows what and your garage will suffer too.

The only way to truly see the bottomof your cowl is to remove the heater box from the passenger side, and the vent assembly from the drivers side. Here's ah not so good, but you get the idea ,pic of what the bottom looks like. They usaully rot out on or around this "hat".
