bstock transverse exhaust systemt

Hello all! Robby 13 here. i was wondering if any one knows how the aftermarket stock transverse system  sound. They finally make them in a 2.25 in. system, and i want to put one on my 67 390gt. The extra noise not so enticing any more.( Not the ones by Mr. Fuller, little to expensive). If some of you are not sure of what im talking about, these systems had 2 torpedo shaped resonators, one on each side in front of each rear wheel, and then a transverse,( sideways) muffler kind of stuffed in front of the gas tank, and then the tips by the rear valance. The muffler has 4 connecting pipes on it. Tell me what you think.  Thanx!
1967 390 gt fastback, 3.25 posi, acapulco blue, black deluxe interior.

Re: bstock transverse exhaust systemt

The bone stock transverse system that is on my 68 with a 331 ci engine sounds great to my old ears.
It has a nice rumble at idle but is quite acceptable at speed with the top down.
I have a friend with a 390 in a 68 fastback and his big block that also is original and it sounds a little  different than my SBF but is also a very nice combination of BB rumble to a pleasing  sound when cruising.
The aftermarket systems are much louder and prone to the  annoying drone resonance that the O/E set up is not plagued with.

Thanx Rudi, that sounds about right for me. Is yours the original set up,or did you install it later? If you did install it later, which company did you use? I would probably go with mustang unlimited or national parts depot, they're closer to me for shipping purposes.
