I found a used convertible "boot" on craigs list for sale, in good shape but it is white, has anyone ever had any experience/luck with dying leather, or its most likely vinyl? I would like to buy it provided I could dye it black, thanks.

It's almost certainly vinyl, and the vinyl dyes do work pretty good. But, you can buy a new TMI boot from any of the Mustang vendors for about $100. I have one and it looks great and fits great also.

I dyed an entire interior on a 70 Duster from gold to black. It turned out great. I bought the stuff at Advance but don't remember the brand. Rub it down really good with laquer thinner first.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
