Fire away with the questions, nothing we like better than helping you spend your money. ;)

Welcome to FYIFORD. Here's hoping you enjoy the ride. There must be about a million collective years of Mustang experience here so you can probably get the info you need. The most important thing...this being your first resto job...is to not get frustrated. Or, when you do just walk away for a few days or weeks and let the excitement rebuild and some clear thinking help solve whatever problem you were facing.
It's a long haul but very much worth it the first time someone throws you a thumbs-up.
So what's your plan? Original restoration? Resto-mod? Racer? Trailer queen show winner?
Hope to meet you at the bash,
BB

Welcome to FYIFORD.
First advice for someone restoring a Mustang is to hit as many car shows or cruises that you can and get ideas of what you want your car to be. Then make a plan, and be sure everything you do fits in with that plan (that advice from a guy on his 4th engine and 4th transmission, myriad sets of wheels, and please do not mention mufflers). Ask questions here before you spend the money. As said previously, we are glad to help you spend yours, but no sense in spending it twice.
Remember, we did not learn all the good stuff by necessarily doing it RIGHT the first time. Some of the best experience you can extract from here is what NOT to do.
Be sure to check out the BASH section. What part of the world are you from?
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
