From time to time I need to cut or paste something that I have just typed into a dialogue box. This program will not let me do it, at least in the sense that you highlight then right click and copy OR you just right click and 'paste' something that is already on your clipboard. When you try this It gives you a message that you can't. It says it has to do with 'my browser settings' and directs you to use key strokes.
I wouldn't have a clue about any browser settings that control this and furthermore, this is the only place that I cannot cut and paste with mouse control.
Any suggestions?

Yeah Daze, that's what it tells me. It's kind of like having to go back to the days of DOS. This is the only place on the internet that I cannot do this with mouse control. That is why I thought that it had to do with settings on this new forum program.

It is defiantly something related to the board host forum. I just went to my galaxie forum (also on board host) and tried to use right click option there to copy and past and got the same issue you are having. I never noticed it before because I prefer the quick keys. I do not believe there is a setting in the forum to change it.

I just tried the right click to COPY, then right click to PASTE and it worked.

Well let,s see! This is the message I get when I right click and choose paste.
Because of your browser's security settings, we are unable to access your clipboard data directly. You must paste it again in this window.
Please paste inside the following box using the keyboard (Ctrl+V or Cmd+V) and press Add
If this has anything to do with my 'browser security settings' I do not have a clue what it would be. I am using Win 7 with FireFox 20.0.1, with all settings at default. As I stated before, this is the only place that a simple right click to copy, then right click to paste does not work.

Try this. After copying, put your pointer at the blinking cursor (or whatever you call it), then right click and paste. If I go to the middle of the screen, there is no option to paste. Pointed at the cursor, a box opens with only the paste option. I may be the only one this works for, but this was pasted from my clipboard.

I get that little 'Paste" box as well, at and I have to put my mouse curser on the blinking text start indicator to do it. However, that paste box opens up a larger box with the message in it that I posted above. I cannot paste direct to the forum message box.

REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
