Alternative to Lizardskin

We were talking about this at Pate the other day.  This is the 7 year long thread about the ceramic microspears alternative mixture.

That is a great thread! I have been trying to decide between making my own as they describe or buying a gallon of the hy-tech SC1000. That stuff sounds very good but of course is more expensive than doing it oneself
