A sunday discusssion,1999 f150,Last pump installed 05/11 roughly 8900 miles on pump. This was a ford Mototcraft pump.Last week it left me stranded.Removed and installed new pump,Tank clean.cut pump motor apart found the armature melted has a plastic skin, pump section free bearings look OK.Found one of the brushes boken off jaming pump.Do you think just sitting for a long time causes problems? Re: Fuel pump

KM
sitting a long time not likely the problem.  sometimes, parts these days, right out of the box, have issues however, motorcraft is ususally highest quality.  i have a 98 f-150 and motorcraft parts are always the recommended replacements that the folks on the f150online forum always recommend.  do a search of that forum and/or post your question there...........it's a great site and has really helped me out with my truck.  good luck.
