Well I've been blessed finding a car

I found a 65 fastback 6cyl from Arizona that's here in slc. The man works out of the country for months. It's a clean car no dash cracks the engine looks clean i was surprised to see the underneath so clean even by the power steering components. All interiors intact I couldn't find a piece that wasn't their. I'm gonna post pics. Hopefully I get taxs back soon to get it. I got his number called him he said he'd sell it for 1,500. I wish I had that now but I'm only 23 not the best job. So hopefully ill get my money and score on a great car.

$1500?  That's $50 more what my dad paid for mine...in 1981. Fastback, 6 cyls, 4 forward gears, 140,000 miles. If its straight, clean, and running I'd say don't hesitate. Good luck.

'66 Fastback since July 27, 1981. Springtime Yellow, originally a 200 cu in, 4 speed. Also a '92 LX Coupe, 5.0, 5 speed.

Sounds like a great score. Be sure to set realistic goals and a budget to get the car to a point where you can enjoy it.
Remember MustangSteves law and that the purchase price is usually one of the lowest costs on the car.
Terry- I thought Salt Lake City for the SLC. I'd be bummed if I missed a 1500 dollar FB in St Louis Co.

Re: Well I've been blessed finding a car

If this is a car you have found on the internet, be very careful before you send anyone any money.  NEVER use Western Union.  The "works out of the country for months" line is a classic scam artist technique.  And $1500 for a fastback is kind of unbelievable nowadays, also a red flag.  That is the typical price they post on their ads, also.  I am not saying this car IS a scam, just that you need to be very careful and make sure it isn't before you do anything.  NEVER send any money to someone unless you have the car right where you can touch it.  Most deals that "sound" like that are scams.

If you have found a local seller that will hand the car, the keys and the title over to you the moment you hand him $1,500 cash, then congratulations !!!  You just got a great deal.

And, welcome to FYIFORD.  You will find a great group of new friends here.  I hope that car works out.  It would be nice to see someone get a deal on something once in a while.  Just be careful.

Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

Re: Well I've been blessed finding a car

Yes it's in Salt Lake City Utah. It's stock Rangoon red with red interior factory power steering and manual trans. I found it driving in Harriman Utah out side of salt lake it's kinda out in no where that's why It's not been sold. Plus owner works out of country. It came from Arizona it has classic plates on it. And has an old show car sticker on the windshield I'm gonna try go today and get pics.

Re: Well I've been blessed finding a car

There is a 10,000  6 cylinder fastback that just popped up on our local craigslist.   Didnt look too bad at first glance.

If multiple things can go wrong, the one that will go wrong will be the one that causes the most damage.
