 I was thinking the same thing. But the way my luck runs, the ones I replace that were not burned out would fail prematurely!!

Sorry to anyone that has one of those cars, just another reason I don't drive GM stuff. Got to the part where they were startin to take the bumper off, I couldn't take anymore. All that for a bulb that costs less than a few bucks. no thanks

My wife's Subaru is just as bad.  I flushed the transmission last year and when I went to gets parts and fluid was pleasantly surprised to find out that the filter is a spin on type like an oil filter, but when I went to do the transmission I couldn't find the filter.  I finally downloaded a shop manual and the first direction for changing the filter was "remove front bumper"  Turns out the filter is under the battery.

Later I changed the spark plugs on the same car, took me 6 hours to change 6 plugs and I dislocated my thumb in the process.  New cars are a pain to work on!!!

My Jag XKR was surprisingly easy to change taillight bulbs.  You open the trunk, remove two plastic thumbscrews on the light body and the inside of the light opened up, pivoting on a hinge.  Then the bulbs were right there in plain view.

On my 07 Mustang, you have to remove all the trunk liner stuff (destroys the plastic rivets that are one-time-use) then three bolts to remove the entire light assembly before you could get to the bulbs.

I like the way the 94-04 Mustang headlights come apart.  You just pull two steel pieces up and the light comes completely out as a unit.

On the Lincoln MKZ, I think the lights are magic and if one goes out you have to trade in the car for a new one.


Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

Are you kidding me?! I gave up right after the hood release instruction. Reminds me of a Buick Skylark I had. You had to remove the entire inner fender to change the oil filter.

If the dealer put a sign up near the car, in the showroom, detailing what it took to change a headlight or turn indicator, they wouldn't sell a one of them.  How are people supposed to know these things?

They don't want you to! They want you to have to take it back to the dealer so they can tell you "it's not under warranty", and charge an absorbent amount of money.

 I was going to correct your use of absordent, thinking you ment exorbidant.exorbidant1.  exceeding the bounds of custom, propriety, or reason, especially in amount or extent; highly excessive.

Then I realizeed you probably did mean absorbent; something that absorbs.
As in the Dealer absorbing the contents of your check book. Hehheh.
