The Next Project

Ran out of projects for the 66 coupe, so started looking for another project. Was looking for 64 Galaxy but found his little brother. 1964 Fairlane 500, of course it was in my color. Wimbledon white, 42,000 miles just about everything is original. Just finished replacing brake shoes, wheel cylinders, and master cylinder.Looks like Brake drums have never been off the car. Had them turned, good for another 40,000 miles. Bottoms of the front seats have some tears in them, and the cloth panel on the seats are faded. I have a lead on some new original material for cloth inserts. The vinyl can be reused as it is very soft and pliable, will see. Its got the 260 with two speed automatic. Its a cruiser.

Re: The Next Project

That is so clean it doesn't even look like a project. Very nice!

If this forum can't fix it, it isn't broke.

That might be a problem, there isn't that much to do. Then I be forced to to find another project. It just never ends

Re: The Next Project

That's a sweet looking car, but I thought projects were supposed to be labor intensive. Or is that just the route I chose!!

Re: The Next Project

That reminds me of the 66 fairlane I bought for a "parts car" original owner with 90,000 on it. Looking back I should have kept it and sold the Mustang. Pulled the motor and sold the rest for what I paid for it.
