Pulsed MIG worth it for our ol' stang?

I don't know if here is the appropriate forum to ask about this question, but since this question will be directly related to the ongoing project on my Mustang, so I decided to ask away. 

 I am getting sick of my old el cheapo chinese TIG welder, it is very inconsistent and it got so hot that it will distort an inch of steel slab (that's an exageration off course ). That and I never allow this welder to touch my precious Stang, so basically I have no welder right now. 

I read on several discussion on the net that due to the recent development of new technologies on MIG, TIG is not actually that favorable anymore? I know there must be some degree of myth and truth on that statement, and I am actually leaning heavily towards MIG for my next purchase as MIG is definitely so much easier and simpler to use and since I will be doing some overhead, off course MIG suppose to make my life so much easier.  
 

Now the big question is....I originally had my eye set on a Miller 350P pulsed MIG welder, no doubt this welder is a serious piece of equipment, but the problem is after some serious shopping to perfect my stang, I have no more money left to buy Miller 350P. All I can afford right now is the lesser Miller MIG model with no pulsed capability. Is pulsed MIG really worth to have in our world? I only going to use the Miller to work on my personal old muscles, nothing else, I have my chinese TIG for everything else. I actually realized that Miller 350P in term of weld thickness ability is a huge overkill in our world, but I am drooling over the pulsed capability, as everyone says, even a monkey can do a good weld with pulsed MIG. However realistically speaking, I really cannot afford Miller 350P right now. What do you guys think about very expensive pulsed vs much cheaper normal MIG? Is pulsed MIG a must have or not worth to pay in our application?  If pulsed not really worth the price, what do you guys recommend to have in the Miller line.

Don't throw your money away or pine for a pulsed MIG. Unless you are doing specialised robotic welding, a  regular MIG will give you better manual welds.

At John Deere I worked closely with the experimental welding department and can tell you for sure that the only guys that wanted GMAW-P were the naive engineers that bought into into the salesmens hype.

 Eastwood has a deal on now for a MIG and a Plasma cutter for around a grand, they both appear to be good machines.

 I have been using a 220 V Millermatic 172 for over ten years and have found that it will do any autowork as well as some much heavier projects. I presently am working on a personal lift that is using structural steel and my 172 is more than capable of handeling the 1/4" to 1/2" materials needed.

Trust me you do not want to deal with the added electronics of a pulsed MIG..

I can't think OF A SINGLE item on a Mustang where a pulse COULD be used!
  I messed with the "whamp-whamp" setting on tig machines but we only used it on really hard metals(or flowing inserts) like inconel or nickel-copper pipe. Very specialized type of welding not needed or used on mild steel(thin material) of an automobile.
Like a woman with silicone "hoots". Looks cool....costs extra...neat to brag about...buttfar practicality nawwwww. K.I.S.S.

Millermatic 211 Autoset seems like a good stuff...I'll probably go with that...
