Jerry, about that trip to Jack Daniels

According to Mapquest the Jack Daniels distillery in Lynchberg is 65 miles from the hotel in Franklin, the route going through Shelbyville, Tenn. My question is : is there a large Shelbyville sign we can park in front of for pictures?

Re: Jerry, about that trip to Jack Daniels

Hey Jerry,  I drove down to Winchester TN for a Army Reunion at Tim Fords Marina.    My Army Buddy David Mckinney lives in Manchester.

Re: Jerry, about that trip to Jack Daniels

its been a little while since i went to shelbyville ( i'm probably 40 mi from there), but am betting there are some large city limits signs with the walking horse convention being held there annually. small towns around here like to brag on stuff like that. you could get good pics at the entrance to the walking horse celebration grounds. go to the shelbyville c.o.c.website & click on the "photos" link. there is a pic of the entrance at the bottom.

Re: Jerry, about that trip to Jack Daniels

I have to admit that I've never been down to Jack Daniels.  It would probably be a day trip for the group.  If there's enough interest, maybe we could squeeze it in.

I suspect there will be early interest untill they find out that Jack doesn't hand out free samples. Probably a pretty drive tho.

Oops, I'm wrong! The regular outside walkaround tour doesn't give tastings. The special inside Distillery tour DOES give tastings. For a small fee.
