    no brakes

    I'm new on here but not to mustangs. I have a 66 fastback with a 5.0 efi swap. 4 wheel disc brakes. Mustang steve master cylinder and power brake booster and pedals. I've bled them twice now and the pedal is still spongy doesn't get hard at all. Looked for leaks can't find any. Pedal just goes to floor with car running or off. Also have manual proportion valve. Any ideas why I can't get a pedal. Thanks

    Did you bench bleed the master cylinder?

    If this forum can't fix it, it isn't broke.

    Are all calipers on the correct side with the bleeders at the top?

    What rear calipers do you have?  You MUST connect the emergency brake and use it often.  Cycle the ebrake real hard about five times and you should have brakes.

    Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

    Yes I've bench bled the master cylinder twice. The rear calipers are just like the fronts and breeders on top. I had this same issue many years ago on my v8 vega. I ended going with a 69 camaro master cylinder and it worked fine. Fixing to try a different one on this car. Running out of time leaving for cruising the coast Wednesday and gotta have brakes.

    You have front calipers on the rear?

    Can you post pics of the calipers as installed?  Showing the bleeders?  Bleeders on top does not necessarily mean installed correctly.
