anybody out there? Am I doing somthing wrong, or is there ah problem with upload image botton at the bottom of the page???

Well Derek, if you are doing something wrong, then so am I. Everything in the picture posting process works fine until the upload, then I get 413 error, file to large. I tried "message board" and"thumbnail". Both were deemed too large.
Mustang Steve, Daze, Hakan, something is broke.

From what I can find there seems to be a file size limit, not sure really where the limit is set though, meaning on TinyPic or boardhost.com. Will register an incident with the boardhost.com helpdesk and see what happens.

It doesn't matter what size you RESIZE it to on the forum, it just doesn't like huge files to be imported from your computer.
I tried to import a 3.2MB picture right after the red car but it would not do it. You have to resize on your computer before importing.

Correct, but as it's possible to upload a 5.5 MB file to TinyPic if you go straight to tinypic.com (tried that with success before sending message to the boardhost.com helpdesk) the limitation is somewhere else. I could go very tech on what I found that the limitation really is, but let's wait and see if the helpdesk reacts on my message to them.

Yeah it's not letting me post pic's that I've posted here before, or any others for that matter..

Might be something on your end?

OK, I officially don't know anything about anything. The picture is automotive because that is a real VW under the Troll' left hand.

The answer I got from the boardhost.com helpdesk was kind of pointless as I already had the info they provided. I'll now see if I can get an answer from TinyPic about what the problem might be.

FYI, I am in a email dialog with the TinyPic/Photobucket helpdesk now, hopefully something useful will come out of it.

Just received this, TinyPic BTW seems to be a part of Photobucket:

Good news. Our Ops team has been able to reproduce the issue. I'm hoping they'll have it corrected within the next day or two.
Thank you for your help!

Regarding Tapatalk it would require boardhost.com where this forum is hosted to upgrade/develop their forum software to support Tapatalk.

Interesting that it is not a universal problem?

My interpretation is that somewhere there's a bottleneck causing this large file upload issue. The problem is finding where in all the software involved this bottleneck really is located, once found it's usually just a matter of changing a value.
The TinyPic/Photobucket helpdesk asked me a couple of things. The answers I gave them then seemed to have helped them to reproduce and isolate the issue which hopefully will make it easier for them to fix it. Why it is not a universal problem can have a number of different explanantions, might be as simple as when we are uploading pictures through the TinyPic dialog box here on this forum we get routed via different servers and one of them have this file size limitation.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
