wHY OLDER CARS(LIKE WIMMEN) are better'n new'uns.......

Went to drop off some tires at the Chebbie dealership todat and there was a new-er Camero up on the rack.
The front suspension cradle was out.....the plastic nose and grill was off.....the tranny was out....driveshaft was out....some of the exhaust was out...engine was out and on the engine stand.
I joked around with the mechanic some and finally asked him WHAT was he doing to the Camero.
He said....."changing out the main bearings and seal".
ALL that stuff to just get to the bearings!  I asked him if the engine could be removed from the top and he said..."nope!...gotta come out from the bottom!!"
Boyz.......the days of doing your on work is HISTORY....except maybe oil change and plugs.
Embrace the old ones built in a simplier time!!!!

That is one of two reasons why I drive a 50 year old car. The other is that nobody ever comes up to me while I'm behind the wheel of my wife's Honda and says that is a really cool car!

You sure about that??  changed the pluges in my wife's 2007 Subaru Tribeca which only has 6 plugs.  6 hours and one dislocated thumb later I finaly had all the plugs changed, I will NEVER do it again.

I feel your pain Daze........it was a 5 hour job to change plugs and COPs on my 03 F-150 with the 5.4L.......

But, next week, it's getting all new suspension parts.......I'm sure my entire weekend will be dedicated to that endeavor.........point is, I can still work on the newer stuff..........including Mrs. JKB's most hated Mini Cooper S.....

Josh, consider adding a camber/caster kit to the truck when you install the new stuff.  It makes it alot easier to align it.  Goes on upper control arm pivot bolts.

Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.
