Justrearends.com specializes in Ford 8" & 9" rears. Prices are competitive.

I just built a 3.55 trac lock for approx 600.00 dollars. It might have been a little less. I used a yukon aftermarket 8" unit. Motive 3.55 gears and a yukon install kit. That one has Timken bearings in it. I got a used 8" rear out of a Mustang II with the waffle pattern off craigslist, and sold the axles and housing which made the case free. I did also spring for a solid spacer. I fretted over the pattern because it was a bit different than the 9", but I had a guy that builds them check it out. He said that 8" patterns can appear a little higher into the heel side. As long as its centered its good to go. He assured me my work would be just fine. It was worth doing for the learning experience.
All in all it wasnt too bad a job. and rebuilding both an 8" and 9" is off my bucket list.
