Keeping the AC threads going...

...anybody add AC to their car (mine's a 65) who is using a Ford serpentine setup? Would love it I didn't have to go get custom hoses made, but wouldn't be the end of the world either. I see CJs Pony Parts offers a Classic Auto Air and you can put in the option for a Ford serpentine. Wondering if anybody went this route and everything bolted right up. Thx.

Re: Keeping the AC threads going...

I am using the serpentine 5.0 setup in my 66 F-100 and will be using an underdash Mustang AC unit, circa 1966.  I saw somewhere a company that made hoses for that application...  On mine, I will just use some generic hoses and mount them to the serpentince compressor o-ring mounts.  I bought a Snap-On brand hose crimper that I have not yet used, so am looking forward to it.  (No, it did not cost an arm and a leg... Probably cheaper than a pair of hoses you would pay someone else to make.)  And the hose compression fittings are real cheap.

Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

Re: Keeping the AC threads going...

I have a serpentine in the 73 Vert. It wasnecessary to swap the belt clutch pulley off, for the serpentine pulley. My brother had a belt assessory drive on the 302, that was replaced when I installed the 306 w/Serpentine.
at(Alan) has done a neat low mounting for the A/C compressor, using a moified 5.0 air pump mount.
I aim to copy it when putting A/C into the 2+2.
