I did a search and found some info but it was conflicting.
I just ordered mb old school rims 17X8 ET6 and I'm wondering if they'll fit my 70 mustang using either 13.2 or 12.5 rotors?
Can anyone with experience shed some light on this?
Thanks in advance.

Theoretically they should fit with proper back spacing. The ms brake kit keeps the stock track width. So that being said they should fit fine. Heres a link to a tire fitment site as well. It shows that with a 4.5 or 4.75 backspacing on a 17x8 wheel it should fit fine.

Probably won't fit. I tried the same rim with 13.2's. The backside of the spoke and the spoke shape in general is too straight. I clearenced the caliper a bit and got the caliper to clear, but then it did not fit the rear more current GT brake caliper. I decided to go another route. You will need a spacer with those rims or a rim with a curved spoke like the Torque Thrust M's. Mine could have been a 7" rim though.

Please email with your wheel fitment info when you install wheels. I have been trying to build a wheel fitment database so this type of question can be answered, but getting information from people is like impossible.
I have no way to try every possible wheel myself, so can only rely on others to provide feedback to help out the "next guy".
If you have installed my COBRA or GT big brakes kits, please let me know what brakes you installed and what wheels you used, and if you tried a wheel and it did not clear.
I know the American Racing TTII wheels do not clear the calipers in front on COBRA 13" brakes. The AR TTM wheels do clear. Coys 67 does clear the GT12.5". Other than that, I have not received much feedback.

Not that many will care but the Cragar Vintage Series 1-Piece aluminum G/T (Summit # 610C773442) clears the 12.5 GT brake. Hey, what can I say...Mom likes 'em.

See my posts on the wheels I got that fit MS's front and rear kit.

Why don't you measure the od of the mb wheels I have the 2013 brake kit I can measure my of diameter of the set up if you'd like. Sense the track width doesn't change you should be good with the proper back spacing

Jkordzi did you end up using the MB Old School Wheels? I Really like those wheels and I have the same 13" GT brake set up. So I'm just wondering if you went with those wheels and how they fit. I also got on the MB's website and noticed that they also show they make a 17x7 in those wheels which would fit great in the front and then I could use their 17x8 in the rear. To bad these early stangs don't fit wider wheels I'd like a big staggered set up something like a 17x7 and 17x9.5 or 10 in the rear that would be awesome.

Not sure how this will be received but there's a fellow over on VMF that's been collecting information for qute a while. There's a link to his wheel/tire data on the right side of his home page, top link -

I got these:
Rev Classic 100 | 17"x7 | 5x4.5 | Silver/Charcoal for the front
Rev Classic 100 | 17"x8 | 5x4.5 | Silver/Charcoal for the back
I got them from
Very happy with them but will probably change out the center caps. They clear the calipers and the fronts balanced with the stick on wheel weights on the inside of the rim. But I had to tell the tire shop where to put them so they'd miss the calipers. I wish I could have found wheels with just a tad more offset. I have rolled front lips and they barely clear.

I am?
Always happy to still see the 'ole charts mentioned and remain useful....but they wouldn't answer such a specific question about clearance on a specific non-stock caliper....with that said....I happen to have a set of MB wheels and can take any measurements needed....they clear the SSBC setup I have on two different cars without issue.
I also have the 'big brake' setup from Shaun at street or track...which I could measure against....but none of those are the late model like MS

That would help me out to measure on the big brake kit. My 13.2" rotor set up with caliper is about 14 1/8" od flush with the caliper. If you could measure the tightest clearanced spot on those mb wheels. The ones I'm looking at using are a 17" x7 in front it dtire can still order them and 17x8 rear. If they can't order them in the narrower wheel for up front I'd still probably buy them. I know in the 17x8 they use a 4.74" back spacing.

I should be able to get to it Saturday...I hope you don't need it before then ;)
Bear in mind....all my wheels are 17x8
Although with a 1970 you would easily be running 17x8 and 17x9.5 wheel ;)
