Not sure why tinypic blew up, but in the above photo for my '65 fastback, I am trying to get the wiring right. The manual makes reference to a yellow wire with a black stripe, however on my car - that is part of the headlight relay. Anyway, I'm out of wires and think this is finished?
thanks!

Not sure of the colors but they are easy enough to trace. Of the two small front terminals, the lower comes from the ignition switch and the upper is the momentary full 12v to the distributor/coil.

Hard to tell from the photo but your primary battery cable - positive lead from battery to solenoid - seems awfully small just comparing it to the lead heading to the starter. But it may just be the picture. What is the gauge of this wire currently? A small cable can lead to a pretty large voltage drop feeding other systems when you start the car. Within reason, the bigger the better. Same applies to your battery negative cable and if re-wiring make sure you have a good ground to the engine block as well as a good engine to chassis ground. Also, the second black wire on the starter side of the solenoid seems out of place - that wire would only receive power during start if I am seeing it correctly. Should that wire be on the battery side? I can't tell what the other cloth-covered wire is going to or if it is a wire on the battery side. Last, your solenoid needs to be grounded to the body and it appears that there is a good coating of paint under it. Are the nuts and washers digging into the chassis on the opposite side? I assume that you are running a standard starter and not a starter with it's own solenoid. That could explain the second wire on the start side.

Thanks everyone!
I did finally get the wiring harness cleared up as to which Side of the starter solenoid and I'm good to go!
