I finally got my engine for the Ford Galaxie completely done!

This engine is a hodge podge of used parts, parts I had on my shelf.   Its a .30 over 289 with Speed Pro flat top pistons, P heads, mild cam,  weiand Intake and Edelbrock 600 manual choke carb.   Stock Duraspark ignition with an MSD blaster coil.  Mated to an AOD with a Mr Shift kit and a kevlar OD band.

The only thing I bought new is the air conditioner and bracket, the air cleaner, the cam, gaskets and small parts.  Note the gas line in particular.  Kind of proud of that.  Things like the water pump and fuel pump I had sitting on my shelves.  

Yes, I have been working on this a very long time, kinda got to work when the hands allow.  Im sorry that I work slow.   


If multiple things can go wrong, the one that will go wrong will be the one that causes the most damage.

Pretty cool when you can start with a pile of nothing sitting on the shelf, and turn it in to something that nice.


If this forum can't fix it, it isn't broke.

Granted, I've never been good at finding waldo, but for the life of me I can't see no gas line.  Or maybe that's what you're proud about.

The gas line is the black 5/16" tubing that is just visible at the right front cylinder head.  It appears to come under the thermostat housing from the fuel pump, then up the front of the head and along the right side of the intake manifold.

For those who havent tried it, bending tubing so it conforms along the contours of the engine or body is hard as heck and almost an art form.  One wrong bend and its all scrap.  I used to bend high pressure 1/4" and 3/8" Stainless Steel tubing for a living and never got as good as I would have liked.  Some people have the knack, others dont.  I fall somewhere in the middle, maybe a little towards the latter.

Thanks guys!   Ive been debating on whether or not to black out the a/c pulley and alt pulley. 

Thats is a delco 12si  alternator and a saginaw pump.  Nothing about it stock.  I made the alt spacer with a piece of round aluminum stock.  

My Gal was already converted over to the delco alt by its previous owner.  Its more than enough for its needs.  I did try to put a 10s fan on the alt so it looks more in place, but it wouldnt work.  

Not a high buck engine, but I suspect it will run OK.
