Where is the best / safest place for jacking and jack stand placement on a 65 Fastback front and rear? To change a tire there are notches on the rocker pinch weld but is that where jack stands should go? I need to get all four off the ground to get under for some work and I don't need it falling on me.
Remember now - there are no dumb questions!
Thanks!

I like to place them under the frame rails in the front and under the axle in the rear.

Agree . Or sometimes if I need it up higher I'll jack up the front and slide ramps under the front tires. I don't like trying to drive up on them, creeps me out!

It's funny you say that, Derek! I feel the same way. Not so much with an automatic transmision cars, but with the clutch is a whole OTHER story!

Just DO NOT place them under the floor beams. They are not thick enough to support the weight without bending. I hope you have the large 3 ton jack stands. You can put them under the frame rails right under the front bumper bolts. In rear, there is not really a good place other than under the axle. If that doesn't work due to the nature if the work you are doing, the 6" of level frame rail beside the spring eye bolt will work, but it will bend if you do not spread the load over some wide jackstand cradles.
The 4 places where the stock scissor jack fit under the rocker panels will work very well, since they are designed for that purpose.

I built a support to fit on a floor jack to raise the front of my '66 car and place floor jacks under it.
Sroll to the bottom of the linked page for pics.
