Here is a picture of the brand new new floor beam I installed, AFTER I removed it from the car. It turned out the rear end of it was installed about 3/8" higher than the other side. I just didn't get it on there right because I pushed it up too far into the floor. Then I welded it, MustangSteve STYLE. That means ...THIS SUCKER AIN'T EVER COMING OFF !!!. The new subframe connectors were extended all the way through the floor beams so they tie into the front frame rails forward of the firewall. The huge plug welds tie the beams to the subframe connectors and front frame rails.
Two hours of grinding through many, many large plug welds and cutting through the passenger floorboard finally got it to come loose. The picture of the installed one is the driver side. Those plug welds, which exist on the inside of the beam also, will be ground smooth so they do not show up.
Now I am waiting for the new beam to be delivered. When it gets here, I will raise the tranny tunnel to clear the TKO, then weld in the new floors.
I told you guys I didn't learn all this stuff by doing it right the first time !!!
