Concerning brake lines......"I heard"...if you put one or two coils in the line from the MC to the proportioning valve...it will give a better pedal and will make brakes work better?!!
How bout it oh grate brake gurus?!
Also.....is there ANY WAY of checking to see if "a certain person" made a good flair/no leaks BEFORE hooking up the ENTIRE brake system!!?!

Sal- I don't see how that would improve braking. I thought it was just a way to use up a longer stick of tubing.
There's no practical way to test the flair. Just do it like MS said n you should be good.

The MC is mounted to the firewall. The combination valve is mounted to the rear inner fender apron. These two objects are on two different planes. The coils allow for some movement of the lines without work hardning of the flared ends, so the don't crack and start leaking. It also makes it easier to connect the fittings into the ports if you have some flexibility.
Unless you really know what you are looking at, the only way to know if they leak is to simply install them and see...

Having a coil of tubing will make it easier in the future to remove/reinstall the master cylinder, as it givs some "play" to the tubing so it can be moved out of the ports. No way can those coils change the laws of physics, though. Fluid is incompressible.

And in Australia, they twist them in the opposite direction.... Someone told me that they put them there so you would have extra brake line if you messed up the fitting or the flare. Uncoil 1 turn, add a new fitting, and flare it.
