Re: Lost dad today.

My deepest sympthies to you and your family.  When we lose a member of the greatest generation its a loss to the whole world.  It saddens me that my son will only know the great people of that generation I knew growing up from my stories.

Like MS and others I lost my dad young.  He was 47 and I was 21.  I miss him every day, and will for the rest of my life.  It was 16 years last month, and I still meet strangers who knew and respected him enough to tell me what a good guy he was.  In the end the greatest legacy any of us can hope to leave is that of a good father, husband, son, and friend.  That's our measure of success.  It sounds like your dad was a resounding success.

Re: Lost dad today.

Walt, I,m sorry for your loss.
Sounds a lot like my Dad. I would still be riding pushbikes without Dads encouragement and influence.

Re: Lost dad today.

sorry for your loss too. cats in the cradle, i've heard this in sermons, i've seen it all too often in life. i thank god my father, he was like yours. i learned so much from him too. now my wife and i are trying to mentor and raise a grandson who is living with us, 18 and after several conversations i have found out how much i don't know. our grandson is very much like the song, very sad indeed.
