I have the remains of the 87 I pulled the 5.0 and T5 from. Was going to give it to MS back when he was reworking his tunnel but could not see a way to remove it with the motor and transmission in the car.It is now a shell and can be cut out.

No worries darren. This is for the 66 coupe. My son has already installed 04 Cobra IRS, and has the R&C MII front end installed for the "Terminator" swap. He's working out some kinks for the Cobra brakes. The S/C 4.6 & T56 are sitting in the corner, waiting their turn.
I've ventured as far as a dual bowl m/c for the 65FB lol

I found it much easier to use a tunnel cut from a 65/66 Mustang. Cut the donor out with the sides cut at the floor level. Cut the existing tunnel as high up as you can. Then install the new tunnel after some fitting and trimming. Then it still looks factory and will clear a TKO 600 with the console installed.
Went through the Fox drill first and this way worked alot better.
Tip... Use a Fox lower boot, bent to fit over the side of the tunnel. This allows you to get a wrench on the vertical shifter bolts.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
