I am trying to maximize the cool ac air, does the hot antifreeze come in and out of the heater core on the fox mustangs like it did on my 66? Should i install that mod to keep the heat out of the passenger compartment?

I don't have one to look at, and the last fox I owned was in 1998, but I think they have one as factory equipment... Vacuum operated valve somewhere? Maybe a fox owner like Josh can take a look.
If it doesn't have one, it would be a good thing to add, and easy to do. Since the A/C doors are vacuum operated, you could just tie into the vacuum signal that works the A/C doors. Use a normally closed valve that only opens when the HEATER or defroster is on. You shouldn't have to disassemble more than about 3/4 of your dash to find that vacuum hose! Actually, all the vacuum lines come to the back of the selector switch. Just figure out which one of the five tubes will have vacuum only in HEAT or DEFROST mode.

there is no factory valve installed....coolant runs through the core at all times.
IMHO, seems like a lot of trouble to go through for minimal return and there's not much room back by the heater hoses to even do that install.
plus, unless you select "heat" your're not really getting any heat in the cabin from the heater core.
if you want to max your AC system, make sure its charged and running at peak proficiency first and you'll be fine.
here in hades, i mean houston, my system keeps me cool
If this doesn't convince you, then just bypass the core for now by "looping" one heater hose to the coolant tubes.....reverse when winter sets in

Thanks MS and Josh.
