We got hit with ice and high winds. Been without power for 26 hours. Expected to have power restored late Wednesday evening. Glad I watch Alaska the last frontier for survival skills.

We've been praying for all the people in Texas. We used to live in Fort Worth.

I'm in Forney and was about a mile away from the one that hit us a few yrs back, and this time we dodged it again. The unfortunate damage in Rowlett was NW of us. Incredible how much damage one of those can cause.

I went back into the area today with some more friends to volunteer with the cleanup. We went to the same church that had locations of people with needs of a crew with chainsaw. First house was a joke, the guy barely had his shingles ruffled. Not sure what he was expecting us to do. Trim hedges??
Second house we used the chainsaw to clear out paths to the house on both front and back. Was able to cut a tree down that had fallen onto a truck and trapped it in.
Third house was the hardest to see. Brian the owner was in the house when it hit. It completely collapsed onto him. A wall fell over on him and was kept from crushing him because it also partially fell onto a truck. His yelling helped his neighbors find him in the two story rubble. When you look at the rubble, understand that I was taller than the two stories that had flattened out. He had a broken collar bone and some ribs. How anyone lived through this house is amazing.
