I have got a new take off diff from a For Motor Sports axle assembly I bought. I changed to a Detroit locker. This one is for 28 spline axles. Includes Tracloc additive.

Price??

I will sell for $50.00 plus shipping since a trac loc rebuild kit is a little more than that.

How hard are these to change out? I can't stand the fact that I don't have posi off the line. A limited slip would be great!

If it is your first time, it will take all day or weekend. You need to remove rear wheels, brakes, rear cover, cross pin retainer bolt and cross pin, axle retainer clips, axle shafts, differential bearing caps, and differential with ring gear. Measure and record each shim for each side of differential bearings. Press new bearing cones on new diff. Remove ring gear from original diff and install on new diff with new bolts. Install new diff assembly into axle with same shims as the old one. If you cannot get it in place because the shims are too tight, use less shim but still enough to get bearing preload. tighten bearing caps and check back lash with a dial indicator. It should be .012 to .015 inch. If not, remove diff and adjust shims accordingly. Since you are using the same gear set in the same housing, you should not need to check pattern. I can do this in a little over an hour, but I have done axle work regularly since 1969. I also have a lift and a 50+ year collection of tools and instruments. If you discover brake work needed or axle bearings and seals needing replaced while you are at it add some time for that.
