tie rod end adapter

I have a 65 mustang fastback with a V8 and I recently converted it to Granada Disc brake setup. I was wondering if the tie rod end adapters that Mustang Steve sells will fit Pinto tie rod ends and convert to fit the Granada spindles or do the only fit the the mustang tie rod ends. My car is lowered so i am working on the bump steer issue.

Not sure about that one.  I know Mustang II tie rods are about same size as Granada...

Re: tie rod end adapter

I thought you had to reuse the 65 if it is power steering, due to the unique bend of the drivers side tie rod?

Re: tie rod end adapter

It would be best if tdarion would rephrase the question, telling exactly what tie rods or steering linkage the car has.  When he said MII tie rods, I was thinking he must have an MII rack in the car.

Yep, you are correct.  Back in '83 (bms, that's before MustangSteve) when I converted my '65 V8  w/PS convertible to Fairlane 500 disc brakes, I looked all over for a tierod end that would fit the new spindle.  Absolutely none were to be found.  I ended up fashioning a soft metal bushing to take up the slack.

I never knew that the left V8 Mustang tie rod end was unique.  All I knew was that it would not fit the new spindle arm and there were no apparent remedies.

When I first stumbled on MS's site, just two years ago,I learned why and promptly ordered his bushing.  In the mean while, I ended up getting a set of CSRP re-cast Granada spindles and MS's bushing did the trick.
