66 Coupe, 5.0 HO, T5z
I'll be putting in A/C in my 66 coupe at the end of the summer. It has a non functioning heating unit.
I can buy a complete Climate control package for a 1988 Foxbody and I can buy a complete kit for a 66 mustang. But I've never come accross a package for the combination of a 5.0 w/ in a classic.
Am I going to have to find somebody to hodge podge 2 kits? I can find the vents and instruments for the 66, after that I'm clueless. Are there such things as universal climate control kits? This is a big part of my daily driver goal here in Texas.
Any help?

Talk to the guys at
They can set you up with an air conditioner for your '66 coupe with the right compressor for a 5.0.
I'm using their "Perfect Fit" system in my '67 coupe.

Michael, are you happy with your perfect fit? A couple of weeks ago while at a car show in Denton I won a $1200 gift certificate to classic auto air.

Lucky dog.
Yes. I've had it for about 8 years now and have been very pleased with it.

I have install both kits and was happy with both Classic air and vintage air. I beleive the vintage air kit had a stronger air flow in the defrost mode. IMHO

Glen,
Which one had best air flow in MAX A/C mode?

I think they are equal. The defrost mode was the only difference. Install wise they are about the same.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
