specialty driveline u joint

Hi I am Mike I own a 64 ford falcon with a 6 cylinder and 2 speed auto transmission .I just bought it. The problem I have is they put a 8.8 rearend init with a yoke no flange. I am trying to get a rear u joint that will fit the stock driveline and adapt to new rear end.I have been told by several people ,that should know, that there is one out there. I tried Napa and precision with no luck.the stock driveline uses a 2 1/2 wide u joint with a 1 inch cup size while the 8.8 rear end yoke is 3 1/4 width with a 1 1/8 cup size. A new driveline is 300 dollars and since I probably will convert to V-8 later I dont want to throw my money away. I would appreciate any comments. Thanks

Re: specialty driveline u joint

What you are looking for is a hybrid u joint. Check out the sizes here. http://www.driveshaftspecialist.com/HTML%20Measure/UJ%20ID%20Guide.html
I don't know if one that size is available. That seems to be quite a difference in size. Good luck.

Re: specialty driveline u joint

Mike, go to the people that know for sure what you need. Find out who makes driveshafts in your area and ask them for the U-joint. They carry all sizes and can fit you up. JMHO   Good luck.
