Re: Ford Kelsey hayes calipers and toyota?

If you said yes to the first one youre wrong it's a 1986 toyota pick up caliper that uses bigger positions or there newer 91 which uses even bigger

Re: Ford Kelsey hayes calipers and toyota?

The thing you need to figure out is what thickness rotor they will work on.  So, you have to buy brake pads and the caliper to find out.  If it all stacks up to where it will fit one of the 3-4 thicknesses of Ford rotors, or if a corresponding Toyota rotor happens to have the correct 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern, then some brackets could be made to bolt them on.

With new take-off Ford Mustang GT brakes selling for $125 a set, shipped, you would be hard pressed to save money doing it.  But efforts to find new stuff that will work are always applauded.

My only problem would be TOYOTA on my FORD.  I'm sure you could make a functioning set of brakes, and if you can make a set that will fit the 14" wheels, then you might be on to something.

Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

Re: Ford Kelsey hayes calipers and toyota?

I agree with toyota on ford even though they are Kelsey hayes calipers. But yes a shame to install foreign on American. I just thought it was interesting to see the simularities. Cause I did a google search for Kelsey hayes caliper for my friends 67 and it showed me these ha ha. But ya a set up for 14" wheels I have one

Re: Ford Kelsey hayes calipers and toyota?

those 86 toyota pickup calipers along with a early 80's cressida vented rotor is the "big brake" setup i'm installing on the triumph tr4a i'm building with a gt40p 5.0 /t5 conversion. its a bolt on swap too!

Re: Ford Kelsey hayes calipers and toyota?

I'm thinking I'm gonna check these calipers out and see what they look like and see the mount pattern cause if they bolt on to early Kelsey hayes brackets that be a significant stopping power gain
