What diameter is the fuel line, pump to carb supposed to be?

I have a 67 Mustang with a 302 in it. All the new fuel lines from tank to pump are 3/8"

I have a pre-bent original steel line from pump to carb, but it is only 5/16"

Are all the pump to carb lines 5/16" or are they supposed to be 3/8" as well? Is the short run of slightly smaller 5/16" that I have going to be a problem for fuel supply to the 302 if I use it? or should I buy a new pump to carb line in 3/8" diameter. The NPD listings make no mention of what the diameter of the lines are.

Thanks

5/16" tube is stock size

It all depends on what you're trying to do power wise.  For a stock to stockish engine the 5/16" line is going to be fine.  If you're looking to feed real power (350HP+) I would go to 3/8".

Re: What diameter is the fuel line, pump to carb supposed to be?

It's a stock 302, no mods. After posting, I realized that NPD lists the entire line right from the tank for 289 engines at 5/16". Looks like they only went to 3/8" in 68. I happened to have 68 lines on hand in the 3/8" size from a previous project.

I think I am going to stick with my existing stock pre-bent 5/16" line for the pump to carb run. It already fits perfectly.

Thanks for the reassurances.

Re: What diameter is the fuel line, pump to carb supposed to be?

Yeah, it will be fine for that.  Its nice to have that 3/8" tank to pump line though in case you ever want to pump up the power.  I'm going to have to change mine out when I drop in my 347, as I have a '67.
