I have the early cast style hinges on a my 67. The pin for the pivot on the lower drivers hinge is broken off flush. There is no access from the bottom and I can't get it out.
Replacement cast hinges listed for 65/66 are not much more than a repair kit. Is there any reason these hinges will not fit on a 67? I know the 68 style steel hinge is the listed replacement for a 67 but I don't want mismatched hinges on the car.
Is there any difference between the hole locations for a 65/66 cast hinge and the cast hinges that were used in 67? Will the replacement 65/66 cast hinge bolt directly onto a 67 door and post?
Thanks

The hinges are totally different. 67 and 68 interchange, but no other years match up..
That broken pin is not that hard to get out.
Place a thick washer on the hinge where it is broken flush with the hinge body. The washer hole should be no larger than the diameter of the pin. Plug weld the washer to the broken pin. Then weld a 3/8" bolt about 2" long to the washer. The threaded end of the bolt shoukd be sticking up.
Place a socket over the bolt with washer and nut atop the socket. Tighten the nut and it will pull the bolt and broken stud up into the socket.
Some rebuild kits come with the new stud and roller. Be sure the roller is shorter than the shoulder on the stud and grease the inside of the roller before pressing it into the hinge body.
A better long term solution is a set of 68 hinges rebuilt with the MustangSteve hinge rebuild kit with heavier pins and bushings plus the greasable zerk fittings.

I don't need hinges for my '65 but I like to keep abreast on all things made available by MS. I did not see, on his page, anything about hinge kits.
