Have a 67 coupe that I need to replace the door runners on both sides and the vent glass on one side.
In the past I have removed everything, starting with the door glass, but would rather not have to redo it all this time. Fitment and alignment is perfect. Is it possible to remove just the vent glass assembly and leave the door glass, crank mechanism and internals in place? Will the door glass fall down at the front without the front run, or will I over stress anything if I let the door glass hang after removing the vent glass assembly and it's supporting track?

It seems like you should be able to but I've never tried. I think the window will be okay if you start with it down and resting on the bumper at the bottom of the door. My concern is getting the front run and vent assembly out with the window wanting to control movement of the run. You have to remove the bottom run-adjuster bolt and move the run toward the outside of the door to be able to lift the assembly out. I'm just not sure you'll be able to accomplish all of that with the window in.
Might work better if you remove the bottom bumper and let the window go all the way down.

If you do this you are going to need these. Couple of the best Ive found on the net. The first one is more of an understanding of what is in there and how it works, than a help guide. Second goes into how to adjust. Those front and rear window guides have to be parallel for smooth operation. And taking the wing out is definately going to potentially alter that. When I have done this in the past, I lined up the front wing assembly/guide with the door gasket, then set the used the back runner to parallel with the front. But its been a long time since Ive done one, so others with more recent experience will most likely chime in.

Yes, I have done it that way.
