    Carpet

    What is the best fitting carpet and is the mass back worth the extra.

    I just bought a ACC set and it is pretty cheap looking. It's only the nylon backed stuff so I'm not surprised. It also had shifter hole precut and I don't want that.

    What have you guys used.

    I have the mass back stuff. It fit nicely and does insulate without using the old jute stuff that can hold moisture.

    Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

    Don at West Coast Classic Cougar did a pretty good video on how to install the mass-back carpet, that shows a lot of the pros, cons, and information you might want.  Yeah, it's a Cougar, but it'd be the same for any Mustang. =)

    If you really want to see what it's like without a big sales pitch, this is a pretty fair way to get the straight skinny.

    I've used ACC carpets in at least three vehicles over the years and thought that the fit and quality was very good.  The carpet I put in my '86 IROC in 2001 still smells new.  Granted, that car hasn't been driven a lot, but you'd think just from sitting that smell would have dissipated by now.  I never had any issues with the carpets being too small and not covering, etc.  Replacing the carpet is labor intensive as you have to find and cut all the holes for the seats, belts, etc., but overall not too bad an experience.

    I really like the ACC mass-back carpet. Installed super easily in my case, and I have underdash A/C to contend with. Didn't even have to put it out in the sun to soften it up or anything - just took it out of the box, laid it out, pulled the interior, and stuffed the new carpet in. Took me maybe an hour? And nothing ever takes that little time for me!

    The extra insulation is nice, especially when it's over 100*F out.

    Looking around it seems there is two different types mass back.

    Loop or nylon. What's the difference?

    Gonna order some Monday so was curious.

    I used the ACC  Mass back loop . Fit nice looks good . Use a sotering iron to make your holes.
