The WYAIT Monster got me!

I had prepped to pull the old three speed out of my 66 fastback and as I was taking out the last exhaust pipe I happened to shine the light on the motor mount.  My immediate thought was somewhere between "That doesn't look good" and "S***". So instead of pulling the tranny, I pulled the motor mounts.
It's not supposed to be two pieces.

When I pulled the right motor mount I found that the two bolts holding the mount to the block also had Adel clamps for the power cable to the starter:

Probable near the end of its life span.

Then while I was standing there looking up at the starter cable I looked straight ahead and saw this:

Which led to this:

Chasing parts and repairing the WYAITs killed two weeks of what I hoped to be progress.

I did get the three speed out yesterday and there are a couple of stories that go with that job, later.

Re: The WYAIT Monster got me!

As time consuming WYAIT is you end up with much more reliable, nicer vehicle and as a bonus you get to detail those parts that otherwise would stick out like a sore thumb.

When I had a full time job and a home project with a time limit I used to get up a few hour earlier and hit the sack at 1am  or so.
