I hope someone can give me some insight. I found a Craigslist post stating:
" a rear disc brake conversion for a ford car or truck using 15" wheels ,if you have the same axle bearing bolt pattern as an 8.8 ford this will fit all brackets,cables,clamps,hoses,bolts and brake line for an easy install". I think the 8.8 bolt pattern is the same, 5x4.5.
I have a v8 66 coupe with factory rear end. Will this "kit " work? I have 17" wheels and installed front power disc kit years ago.

I'm not sure what they mean by "axle bearing bolt pattern", but I don't think it means wheel bolt pattern. I would assume they are referring to the bolt pattern for the drum brake backing plate. On 8" and 9" rears this is also where the axle bearing retainer bolts to the axle housing, but 8.8 rears use c-clips and consequently do not have axle bearing retainers.

Be careful...
I suspect they are referring to the axle housing to backing plate/caliper bracket bolt pattern. Last year I bought a complete rear disc setup from Blue Oval Ent. that fits the "late 9" rearend. I took a chance that it would bolt up to the Explorer 8.8 I have under the 66. Well, the bolt pattern at the housing flange is the same but it's oriented about 90 degrees off of what the caliper brackets are designed for. I was hoping it would be an easy way to get the Cobra type parking brake and can the Explorer expanding shoe P-brake setup....No joy!
Due to the horizontal orientation of the Exploder housing flange this setup puts the calipers were one would not be able to connect the parking brake or effectively bleed the rears.
AS for that bolting to your stock 8", small brg. rearend...I would seriously doubt it.
If they give you an FRP part number I will check against what I have...might save you some grief and $$$.

I just spoke with MS about what I have and he tells me they are Mustang 05 - 09 GT and Six brakes but the brackets are different. I will look into making a set of brackets or buying a set from MS. If the price is cheap enough you could probably buy the MS brackets and not have crazy money in the rear discs. The good part about these is the P-brake actuation. Easy to connect and works fine with the stock pull handle which the expanding shoe type will not.

You CANNOT use 15" wheels with the 2005-2014 rear discs. They require at least a 16". My GT2008-RSM brackets will install those brakes on small bearing 8" or 9" rears. The GT2008-RLG is for the large bearing 9".
The gold 68 has those brakes on it.
You CAN use a 15" wheel with the 94-04 Cobra rear brakes. Matching fronts in either case require 17".

The rears are only 11.65" in diameter. Its those 13" pie plate fronts that don't fit.

So it looks like I can order the proper bracket set for a small bearing GT2008 RSM from MS. And with my 17" wheels, it should fit. Does that sound accurate?
While I'm at it, I oughta order MS modified brake pedal for my 66 a long with his boooster. I installed a set from Master Power Brakes for the front a few years ago. While they perform as intended, I cannot get used to the long pedal travel, almost to the floor. I've bled them multiple times and checked each line independently and still no change.
