I'm converting the dash on my 65 to 66 configuration. Went to the store to pick up Auto Meter gauges and found Equus gauges at a significant cost savings. Only problem I have found is they are 2" versus the 2 1/16" everyone seems to prefer. Has anyone used the Equus gauges and if so what modification was necessary to compensate for the 1/16" difference? Happy with the looks and performance? Difference in price is about $150.00 just for the basic gauges and they are all electrical. Equus also makes the speedometer. It's 3 3/8" and sells for $80.00. Input would be greatly appreciated.

Back in the day I bought Equus gauges, Inexpensive tachs and the typical under dash mounted tri-gauges.
For me they have always been "Wallmart" quality.
For a Mustang thats your pride and joy the extra cost of a quality part is soon forgotten rather than the everlasting disapointment of cheap parts.

Chinese parts are everywhere nowadays. I aboid them whenever there is a quality US alternative. I use same gauges as NASCAR because I have alot invested in my engine.
I doubt you will find any cars with Eqqus gauges on a track. But, if money savings is the primary concern, they probably work nearly as well as the originals.

I'm really surprised there is no one using these gauges. Their made in CA and have been for close to 40 years according to what I can find on them. Oh well, back to the drawing board. Thanks for the info.
