I've seen those Terry but, never was able to purchase. That one looks to be in good condition...

When I was about 9 or 10 years old, I got one of those as a Christmas gift from my aunt who worked at a Ford assembly plant. I had that thing for years and let my kids play with it. Sadly, it was broken and ended up in the trash. It wasn't quite like the RC cars of today. Could go straight or turn (if you manually turned the front wheels). The headlights and tail lights lit up if I remember right.

Let's put a 9 turn motor in it and change it over to 9.6V with soft touch speed control!
That's my TT01 Skyline setup. AWD and it fries the tires at will even with the traction control. I truly cannot leave anything alone...

I have something similar. A coupe model that was given to me, but mine is plastic and it does not have the electrical workings. Probably cheap compared to the one in the pictures. I think the Dealers handed them out back in the day (1964/1965). The plastic is a little brittle on mine, but it is in ok condition. The cool thing is that my model is the same colour as my car.

In 64 my dad bought a new fairlane. The dealer gave him a galaxy 500 convert. model. I played with that thing until the wheels fell off. That was back when gas stations were called service stations and you'd get all kinds of freebies with a fill-up.

When I was ten, I had a 65 Mustang fastback with a Cox .049 engine in it, very similar setup to that one. Sure wish I had taken care of it and kept it pristine. Hey, I was a KID with a MUSTANG!!! What would one expect other than total destruction !!!
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
