66 coupe 17 inch wheels

I  have installed Steve's  08 gt disc conversion front & rear. I recently picked up a set of  late model SVT rims 17x8  .  What are my options for tires & do I need rear spacers. I already have longer wheel studs installed. Thanks

Re: 66 coupe 17 inch wheels

By LATE MODEL, what year do you mean?  What year is your car?

Re: 66 coupe 17 inch wheels

Are they OE Cobras or something like the AFS repros? OE are 17x9, AFS has a few different sizes.

Re: 66 coupe 17 inch wheels

17x8 wheels will bolt on using a 1" spacer, assuming they have the normal 2003 5.72" backspacing. They are going to rub your front fenders, so be sure to roll the fender edge to reduce the carnage that will result.

Re: 66 coupe 17 inch wheels

I guess to clarify what I meant, be sure to verify what wheel you have (OE vs. aftermarket) 'cause they might not be 17x8.

AFS does make an 03-04 Cobra replica that *is* 17x8 and has a BS of 5.06", they make several other sizes as well.
